Pouyan is a Research Associate at the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy. Pouyan writes op-eds and policy briefs, hosts expert panels, and provides foreign policy analysis to various media outlets. Pouyan’s research concerns Canadian foreign policy, European affairs, and Middle Eastern issues. Before joining IPD, Pouyan was a campaign advisor for a local MLA candidate and also served as an intern for the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, where he prepared research briefings for the Committee’s Secretariat and Members of the European Parliament. Pouyan studied Political Science and International Relations at the University of British Columbia. During his undergraduate tenure, Pouyan was a member of both the UBC International Relations Association and the UBC Political Science Association. In these capacities, Pouyan helped establish the University’s first Model European Union as its Vice-President and acted as a director of the UBC PPSA Moot Court.
