Amy Tachco
Amy Tachco is the Director of the Office of Regional and Multilateral Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. She joined the Foreign Service in 2002 and has served in Karachi, Casablanca, Madrid (twice), Beirut, and in Washington in positions in the Bureaus of Near Eastern and African Affairs. She served as Political Counselor at U.S. Embassy Damascus in the run-up to closure of the mission in 2012, and was Political Coordinator at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations 2015-2018, leading the Security Council team. She also served as Foreign Policy Adviser to the U.S. Navy Fifth Fleet Commander in Manama, Bahrain.
A graduate of Smith College and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, she speaks French, Spanish, Italian, and Arabic.
