Research Fellow Christopher Mott penned a piece for Baku Dialogues on the status and role of middle powers in Central Asia and its periphery.
While there is no single country that yet meets the criteria for being a regionally decisive middle power in Central Asia or the Caucasus, the region itself contains vast amounts of potential for the future. This is understood by many people who reside in the core states of the Silk Road region but by relatively few outside of its geography.
Dr. Christopher Mott (@chrisdmott) is a Research Fellow at IPD and a former researcher and desk officer at the U.S. Department of State.
